1. Download the latest version of the FortiClient Support Tools 
    1. login to https://support.fortinet.com
    2. If needed, select "Check City" as the client whose system you want to get into
    3. At the top of the page, click the "Support" pull-down menu, then click "Firmware Download
    4. In the product pulldown menu select "Forticlient"
    5. Click the "Download" tab.
    6. Click the the "Windows" directory, and then continue clicking on the latest versions of sub-directories.  As of the writing of this article the latest were:  "v7.00", "7.2", "7.2.1".
    7. Locate the "FortiClientTools" download and click the "HTTPS" link to download them.
  2. Copy the downloaded .zip file to the computer that you want to remove FortiClient from and extract the files.
  3. Reboot the computer into Safe-Mode (This part will require you to have console access or to walk a user through these steps)  {Teamviewer may offer a reconnect option if the user chooses "Safe-Mode with networking"}
    1. Hold down the "Shift" key and click the start menu and choose "Power" then "Restart"
    2. Select the "Troubleshoot" option.
    3. Select "Advanced Options"
    4. Select "Startup Settings"
    5. Select "Restart"
    6. After the computer reboots, select "Safe Mode with Networking"
  4. Now that the computer is in Safe Mode you will need to login.
  5. Open the FortiClientTools folder, then open the SupportUtils sub-directory.
  6. Double-click and run the "FCRemove" utility.
  7. Click "OK" on the warning that pops up.
  8. After a few seconds you will see a new file appear in that directory called "fcremovelog".  When you see this new log file you can restart the computer and FortiClient will be removed.
